Book Launch, Free Books, and a Sweet Little Cocktail Recipe!

Aloha and Happy St. Patrick's Day!

As I write this, I can hear the sound of Myna birds, a chainsaw, and an occasional car passing by. I'm back in Hawaii after a short trip to Oregon to visit family. We even had a surprise guest—my daughter who lives in Rome, Italy flew out to join in on a girls trip to Bend!

While I was in Oregon, I FINALLY traded in my 13-year-old truck for a new-to-me Tundra. The hubby and daughters insisted I buy something new as my old truck was chronically moldy and even had a few mushrooms growing in the back. We'd gone on some great adventures, me and that truck, so it was hard to let go. But, on my way to the dealership it was actually RAINING inside my truck in three places, so I guess it was time to let go...

I also had the opportunity to catch up with a good friend, an author of cozy mysteries as well, although on a much larger scale than me. She is hilarious and helpful, and just the balm I needed. If you're like me and always on the lookout for a new author to binge—her name is Shea McCloud, and her Lady Rample series is superb!

I just finished the final edits for Kawaihae Killer and sent it off to the printers! Woohoo—book three of The Barefoot Sleuth Cozy Mystery series is complete and due out March 21st!

Ocean Cosmos Cocktail

This is the recipe Elliot entered in the cocktail contest. Sweet, creamy, and with a nutty finish you'll never even realize you've tipped over the edge into bad decision territory… :-)

• 2 oz. Blue Curacao
• 1 oz. Coconut Cream
• 1 oz. Macadamia Nut liquor
• Splash of pineapple juice

Mix all ingredients and then pour into a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into your favorite cocktail glass and maybe stab a few chunks of pineapple with a cocktail sword thingie and throw it in for vibes! Bonus points if you wear an eye patch while drinking and randomly insert a "Yarrrrr!" into conversation every once in a while…
